Los jardines y patios, de herencia árabe, contrastan con la suntuosa fachada de esta finca en la que conviven en equilibrio el estilo gótico, barroco y renacentista, pero eso sí, con un marcado carácter rural.

Tras la conquista de Baleares por Jaime I, el monarca entregó la posesión a su tío Nuño de Rosellón, quien se la vendió a la familia morisca Ben-Abet. Ha pasado por varias manos más y ha sufrido diversas reformas hasta pertenecer a la familia Zaforteza, actualmente.

En el patio de la casa destaca una fuente con una particular estatua de un niño y un pez. Los jardines de Alfabia se encuentran en la parte posterior de la finca, donde se encuentra un aljibe abovedado, de espectaculares dimensiones, igual que la pérgola de 72 columnas y 24 hidras de piedra por las que fluye el agua en pendiente hasta alcanzar un espléndido huerto de naranjos.

Otro de los jardines que destaca, añadido posteriormente durante el s. XIX, es de tipo paisajista, verán un encantador lago poblado por nenúfares y envuelto en palmeras y bambúes .

Another of the gardens that stands out, added later during the s. XIX, of landscape type, you will see a charming lake populated by water lilies and wrapped in palm trees and bamboos.

En su libro Crónica del viaje de Sus Majestades y Altezas Reales a las Islas Baleares y Aragón, Antonio Flores, cronista de la reina Isabel II, que visitó Alfabia en el año 1860, afirmó sobre la finca:
“La entrada a la quinta de Alfabia es suntuosa, pero la salida por la parte opuesta es una maravilla. Entrar en la casa que es de regulares dimensiones, atravesar sus principales salas, que están corridas y asomarse a la galería que se extiende alrededor del jardín, es quedar absorto y suspenso entre el panorama más variado y más bello que pueda soñar la imaginación humana. A pesar de que la pintoresca sierra de Alfabia se anuncia antes de llegar a la quinta, todavía sorprende que a espaldas de aquél edificio se oculte una naturaleza tan bella y caprichosa. Parece que la naturaleza y el arte son obras de una mano. No se sabe dónde acaba el jardín y dónde empieza la montaña, ésta y aquél parecen una misma”.

In his book Chronicle of the trip of Their Majesties and Royal Highnesses to the Balearic Islands and Aragon, Antonio Flores, chronicler of Queen Elizabeth II, who visited Alfabia in 1860, stated about the estate:

“The entrance to the Quinta of Alfabia is sumptuous, but the exit from the opposite side is wonderful. To enter the house, which is of regular dimensions, to go through its main rooms, which are crowded, and to look out onto the gallery that extends around the garden, is to be absorbed and suspended among the most varied and most beautiful panorama that the human imagination can dream of. Despite the fact that the picturesque Sierra de Alfabia is announced before reaching the fifth, it is still surprising that behind that building there is such a beautiful and capricious nature. It seems that nature and art are works of same hand. It is not known where the garden ends and where the mountain begins, this one and that one seem the same ”.
