Tras la conquista de Baleares por Jaime I, el monarca entregó la posesión a su tío Nuño de Rosellón, quien se la vendió a la familia morisca Ben-Abet. Ha pasado por varias manos más y ha sufrido diversas reformas hasta pertenecer a la familia Zaforteza, actualmente.

En el patio de la casa destaca una fuente con una particular estatua de un niño y un pez. Los jardines de Alfabia se encuentran en la parte posterior de la finca, donde se encuentra un aljibe abovedado, de espectaculares dimensiones, igual que la pérgola de 72 columnas y 24 hidras de piedra por las que fluye el agua en pendiente hasta alcanzar un espléndido huerto de naranjos.

Otro de los jardines que destaca, añadido posteriormente durante el s. XIX, es de tipo paisajista, verán un encantador lago poblado por nenúfares y envuelto en palmeras y bambúes .
